Nicole earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Agricultural Economics from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, followed by her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law. While in law school, she participated in the Community Development Law Clinic, where she supported nonprofit organizations and a housing cooperative on tax, property, and governance matters—an experience that solidified her dedication to public service and underrepresented communities.
Her hands-on legal experience began before becoming an attorney. Nicole worked in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Fraud Section (FCPA Unit) as a paralegal, and later served as a Law Clerk in the Office of Immigration Litigation (OIL), where she supported federal attorneys on complex immigration matters. Her legal background also includes interning at the D.C. Office of Tax and Revenue, gaining critical insight into regulatory and public sector systems.
